About Us

Hatid Ko Edukasyon Mo Inc. (HKEMI) is a non-stock non-profit corporation organised with the purpose of giving educational assistance to our less fortunate youth through scholarship programs.  Backed by companies and individuals, HKEMI (for short) was able to launched its scholarship program in school year 2018-2019.  HKEMI is founded by Crisanto Capacio a Cabuyeño who once dreamed to finish education in college but due to financial constraints he ended up as a working student and finished technical course in Computer Programming and now an entrepreneur having few small businesses in industry which he consider as vehicle in helping less fortunate Filipinos.

HKEMI' program lies not only in providing free education and financial assistance but promotes values formation in becoming a better Christian.  Scholars are given formation talks and spiritual counselling extended to its family members.

The 2013 Functional Literacy, Education and Mass Survey (FLEMMS) covered around 36 million population aged 6 to 24 years.  According to the survey, one in every ten or about 4 million Filipino children and youth was out-of-school in 2013.  In general, the proportion of persons who are out-of-school was higher among the youth than among the children. 

Excluding CAR, the proportion of out-of-school youth across regions ranged from 14.5 percent to 20.4 percent.  19.2 percent among reasons for not attending school cited insufficient family income to send child to school (this refers to educational expenses other than from tuition fees).
